What is the comp difference between PE and co-invests?
Currently a PE associate at an MF and have been told there is room to grow - really love the job and team so not planning to move any time soon.
The hours are around 100 per week, which is fine with me, but I do wonder as I get older what sort of optionality there is on that front. For example, if I go to FoF or co-invests, can I make 80% as much at 50% the hours? I doubt it, but don’t have a path to an answer. Any insights on that front? What about high yield credit?
Appreciate the help.
Hopefully someone can chime in at higher levels but at the junior level, a co-invest team has same comp as LMM/MM PE, in the mid 200s for associate and 300s for senior associate I've seen. I've heard the discount widens to
~25%-30% given 1/10 vs. 2/20 fee structures but can't confirm.
