What type of company am I in?

Many of you will find this amusing, but I recently got into brokerage but I'm trying to understand what "type" brokerage it is. Given it's a small company, I don't want to ask questions that may undermine myself in the firm.

So far, I know we're a brokerage that helps funds invest their capital into private companies. We also help take companies public. We find private companies looking for capital, and we earn a commission when the capital gets injected. We don't touch any public companies nor do we touch any other type of investments like bonds or ETFs.

I'm sure many of you will laugh at this post, but given we only deal with private companies, I figured some of you may have a better idea than I do.

$300mm investment into private companies? That seems like a pretty healthy chunk for a 'small brokerage'. Even some MMs and BBs have come down market and would be cutting into those fees of yours if that's your niche. How much deal flow do you guys see in a year?

And there is no such thing as a no sale call. A sale is made on every call you make. Either you sell the client some stock or he sells you a reason he can't. Either way a sale is made, the only question is who is gonna close? You or him? Now be relentless, that's it, I'm done.
