I have heard secondhand that it's sweaty, old-school culture, low on mentorship, some WFH, high quality deal reps, good mix of portfolio and platform work, growing "full platform" PE firm, good returns, virtually guaranteed H/S admissions, fair pay relative to comps, good name brand that opens most doors but not all, some sectors better culture/performance than others.

Awful culture and really sweaty. Unless you’re really dead set on going to bschool, most people decide that it isn’t worth it vs going to a different firm.

By the time you’re in your mid-late 20s people really start to question whether continuing to live a repressed life for the sake of “work experience” and “prestige” is worth it, especially when you can earn a comparable amount and have greater ability to move up at a less intense firm.

In all the normal ways. Rigid hierarchy, long hours, no respect for boundaries, passive aggressive mid to senior professionals, unfriendly and sterile people, lots of face time and service with a smile required, conservative work culture, no concept of 80-20, little to no regard for your personal happiness or career longevity. But you get to do lots of deals!
