Why is everyone so adverse to operations

I barely even know what ops even is given its so broad but generally speaking people on this site avoid ops work for deal execution work instead and I'm wondering why? So you can facilitate the greatest business acquisition ever with your IB/PE experience, but like what do u do after that? isn't an ops person just better equiped to actually integrate and run it? Isn't that much more valuable than convincing a buyer/seller your numbers aren't complete bullshit. Like what's the difference between a PE Investor monitoring a portco and PE ops team going in there and actually implementing the improvements.
