Year 1 PE internship - what doors are now open?

Assalaumagaleikum

Yet another question on job prospects, of which there are many on this forum. Nevertheless, I'm kind of lost, so I'd be thankful for your advice regarding the following:

About me:

  • Year 1 student at The Chinese University of Hong Kong
  • Major: QFin + Risk Mgmt

Recent experience:

  • Unofficial financial modelling internship at Novartis Pharma Services AG during high school
  • Official internship at >$10bn Kazakhstani PE firm's investments and development office [focus regions: APAC, Europe, Middle East]. Multiple prospective investments considered, one ($50-200M) brought to final consideration and deep dd stage as of today. Dozens of interactions with the firm's current assets.

Now, I understand that the experience I would have gotten by the beginning of year 2 would put me in a more competitive position compared to most of the other year 1 students. However, I don't know what to do with it. Knock at GS/MS door and play a prodigy? I don't know. Try contacting some of the investment banks we've worked with during my PE internship? Maybe, but the selection is limited to DelMorgan and Alantra: the former is ******, the latter I had little contact with.

I'd be very glad to see your reply.

Sincerely yours,
Monkey

Some comments:
Novartis - a very close relative of mine is a sales/finance professional. This relative at some point of time was assigned with the responsibilities of two or even three employees, so I had to take on part of the work to help the family make the ends meet. Worked a lot, learned a lot.
PE firm - no family connections or anything like that to land the internship. Their decision was based on my prior experience, university courses taken, and science competitions background.
