Am I cooked?

Interviewed with a bank that has a real estate investing arm (think JPM AM, MSREI, GS AM). Most of my last round super days were spread out over 3 weeks ago, with the last one being last last thursday. Haven’t heard anything last or early this week and thinking of following up tomorrow if I don’t hear anything. Am i cooked? The past few rejections i’ve got have been around this timeframe when I reach out

Based on the most helpful WSO content, you're not necessarily "cooked" yet, but the timeline is definitely stretching into the territory where follow-up is appropriate. Here's what you should do:

  1. Follow Up Politely: If you haven’t heard back by tomorrow, send a polite follow-up email. Keep it short and professional. For example:

    • Reiterate your interest in the role and the team.
    • Mention the date of your last interview and ask if there are any updates on the process.
    • Thank them for their time and consideration.
  2. Timing Matters: WSO threads suggest that following up 1-2 weeks after the last interaction is standard, but since it’s been over 3 weeks, it’s definitely time to check in.

  3. Be Prepared for Any Outcome: While delays don’t always mean rejection, it’s wise to mentally prepare for any response. Some WSO users have noted that rejections often come after a similar timeframe, but others have shared success stories where they received offers even after long waits.

  4. Consistency is Key: If you don’t get a response to your follow-up, wait another week and try again. Persistence (without being pushy) can sometimes make a difference.

Good luck! Whether it’s this opportunity or the next, staying proactive and professional will always serve you well.
