Are any major acquisitions teams remote?
I want to work at a medium-to-top tier shop in a transactional role, ideally acquisitions. However, I am not a fan of the corporate office environment and I want the freedom to live wherever I please. Any suggestions?

Fingers crossed that one of those helps you.
For juniors I haven’t seen any top shops fully remote. I know Fundrise is fully remote, but they don’t pay that great
any idea how much they pay for acq associate?
I personally don't know of any top-tier shops that are fully remote. My personal opinion is that while you are young in your career, you should try to surround yourself with people that know more than you. Being in the office is a great way to learn from others. Whether that be best practices, UW approaches, and/or how to manage deal flow, having someone at arm's length is a huge advantage. You would be surprised at how much information you digest from overhearing conversations or talking to co-workers in passing.
That being said - A lot of firms will likely allow you to work remotely a few days of the week. Especially if you are just grinding out UW for potential acquisitions. I think you need to consider where you want to live and try to recruit with firms in that area. Based on the firms on your "hit list", find who gives you the most flexibility to complete your work outside of the office. This would likely give you the "best of both worlds".
Agree with all of this! Especially in CRE, where relationships (with both coworkers and counterparties you do business with) are of utmost importance. I believe that the office environment will forever be crucial to the development of us young guns; however, believe the culture of finance-related jobs is shifting. More and more I am noticing that longer tenured employees that have gained equity & trust at their firm due to YOE are allowed to work remotely but stay with firm / team. Not sure what OP's YOE is, but recommend spending formative years of career in the office. To echo Chasing Promote, can always figure out where you'd ideally like to live and focus your search in said markets. The hybrid model certainly exists as well (whether advertised or not) and is something you could bring up with team in later stages of interview. Don't pose your request as "I don't want to be in the office", but rather "I have personal interests in my life that I'd like to pursue and being able to work remotely from time-to-time would allow me to do so more easily". Companies appreciate their employees having passions outside of the workplace - make that known and I think employers will be more flexible than you think, especially if you are a desirable candidate.
Good luck!
