Best Master's for Breaking into RE Investment/AM

Hey everyone,

Looking for some input from people who've been through the process or are currently working in RE investment or asset management.

Background: Recent German undergrad in industrial engineering - civil engineering, some RE asset management and RE valuation experience. Targeting investment or asset management roles, Germany-based or internationally (London, Nordics, or broader Europe).

Currently thinking of:

  • IREBS (Regensburg) – seems like the gold standard in Germany but wondering how it travels internationally
  • Bayes MSc Real Estate Investment (London) – strong RICS accreditation and London network but expensive
  • MiF programs – Nova SBE, SSE Stockholm, or WHU as alternatives if going the finance route rather than pure RE

A few things I'm genuinely unsure about:

  • Does IREBS carry weight outside Germany, particularly in London or the Nordics?
  • Is a specialized RE master's (Bayes/IREBS) meaningfully better than a strong MiF (Nova/SSE) for breaking into RE PE or institutional AM?
  • For those who went the MiF route into RE — did you feel disadvantaged against RE-specific master's candidates?

Would really appreciate anyone sharing their experience, especially if you've recruited for REPE or institutional AM in Europe. Happy to share more about my background if helpful.

Thanks
