Canada / Toronto Job Market

Anyone have any luck securing roles in the TO market or Canada in general?

I recently left / resigned from my employer due to culture / financial difficulty. The market seems dead right now and post positions don’t end up getting filled regardless.

What should be my go forward strategy? I’m in my 30s with 8 YOE across multi family / senior housing investment and development.

Keep your head up…things will get better as rates are dropping. Do you have some savings or another household income? If so, I wouldn’t be too stressed out.

Unless you have kids then that’s a different story.

The market is rough right now especially for anything about associate. But I believe things will get better in the next 12 months.

I was in a similar situation to yours. unemployed for 5 months and landed a job at one of the boutique asset management firms. Recruiter will not care for a 3-6 months gap given the current job market - everyone understands it's a tough time.... Keep trying and applying for jobs. Make sure to have a good story about why you left/were laid off previous role and why you are a good fit.
