Case Study Help - Multifamily Market Analysis
Does anyone know a free resource I can leverage for a short written market analysis as part of a practice case study? It's a hypothetical investment-decision exercise of a multifamily asset in suburb of a major city.
Per the instructions: "Prepare a written memo that includes a submarket summary of where the asset is located. Include information about the market fundamentals, activity in the submarket any other facts or information that you think is pertinent to know for investment purposes."
Use government statistics for demographic trends (likely won't be able to get exact submarket but close). Then look at the city planning office's registry of zoning/construction applications to be able to speak to the current pipeline for new development there. Use Apartments.com to figure out rents for different types of product.
Take all that in conjunction and write about how those things coincide with one another and impact your outlook.
Appreciate it.
I would call the top property management company in the area and ask for market information. I'd also ask for a costar report on the market too. The reports are very high level but enough to get you going. Someone on this platform could help if you share the market/address.
