Comp
About to crux year 3 in the industry, and have been working my tail off for the past 1.5 years in my current position, expecting a promotion soon. Currently an investment analyst at a small but growing industrial development company, currently building out an acquisitions arm as well. Current comp 95k base, 10-15k bonus, looking for associates to chime in on their comp.
You're going to get answers varying from $100k to $300k+ all-in at the associate level. A lot of your potential is going to depend on how much your company can even afford to pay an associate which is going to depend on your deal flow and deal sizes. At a small, growing industrial firm, by gut says you could end up around $125k - $175k all-in depending on how aggressive your founders are about coming out of their own pocket to retain talent for future growth. They might try to entice you with giving you promote points instead of significantly increasing your comp (these guys probably still have low fee income coming in to pay salaries and are banking on the back end). These are good but just know they usually always fluff up the expected pay out numbers and are defintley not guaranteed money especially today
That’s really low. Are you in a HCOL city?
Top of the street Associate pay in LA is Bellwether AM, around 250k to 300k all in.
