CRE - Firms Currently Hiring
Hey thought I would start a topic hopefully anybody who has any info on firms that are currently active in the job market could potentially post it in here.
I know a lot of seniors graduating in May and younger folks in the industry may currently be getting fucked over with lost job offers and layoffs so may be useful to a good number of the people on here.

Name of the game right now is asset management both on the debt and equity side. The origination staff from many lenders have shifted attention from new loans to asset management. I don't have any specific names but I think that would be a good area to start a search.
I've had a number of firms reach out to me, a lot are doing slow interviews (one every other week) and don't expect a start until at least June for whoever is hired.
Try and target companies that have strong balance sheets (haven't had any layoffs) and are positioned to come out swinging when this is all over. This is a fantastic time for a company to take a step back and see if there is potential to grow through this, either through human or property acquisitions.

It's one of the most well known companies in the industry?

Second the asset management comment. Next would be special servicers.
All our producers are now helping with asset management or Freddie SBL
I guess the major point would be to look for firms that own assets. I know that sounds stupid, but the whole industry is going to be in for a shock, and firms with stable cash flow are the ones who will be hiring or looking at this as an opportunity.
Merchant builders won't be hiring because they won't be generating new fees
Debt shops are going to get killed, there will be massive reductions in transaction volume over the next 4 months, which means no fees.
Etc etc.
I know this isn't always obvious, but if you're applying for a job at a firm you'll have a decent idea of what it is they do, and what their business plan is
