CRE Industry Paternity Leave
What is the policy for paternity leave at your firm?
We get 2 weeks..so I am curious what it’s like elsewhere.

Based on the most helpful WSO content, here are some insights on paternity leave policies in the CRE industry:
It seems that paternity leave policies can vary significantly across firms in the CRE industry, with some offering as little as 2 weeks and others providing up to 3 months.

Bumping. Women get 3 months, men get 2 weeks.
I will leave all the potential gender bending scenarios aside for the moment. 😂
Pretty much the same here
Can you actually take the 2 weeks?
Generally yes, but most expect to respond to urgent requests. So maybe that’s no lol
I had 3 weeks with my first but only was able to take 1 week due to the timing and it being quite busy. With my second, I took full 3 weeks because I wanted to spend time with them and didnt care how busy I was. Work is meaningless without family.
6 months current. prior family office 12 weeks.
Months?! What department?
my whole company, but I'm front office.
This was just implemented this year
Lmao this is America, brother. We don't give a shit about kids, mothers, fathers, etc.
Gotta make sure you're back in the office so you can respond to emails and do zoom calls from your work desk and not your home desk.
lol we get 12 weeks…
What type of firm? I know the larger corporate ones have pretty generous benefits
12 weeks here in CA….I plan on using all of it
Can you share a few weeks
I received 2 weeks, and then used 2 weeks of vacation. Beyond that, I requested to WFH for another month and to come in when necessary.
Not a bad move
At lean shops without (or even with) an official policy, my advice (especially in this market) is: don't make yourself redundant by letting everyone know how well they can get along without you for an extended period.
Brother fuck that noise. I'm at a smaller shop and if I left for that long they would realize how much they're fucked without me. Would probably come back to raise at the end of it lol
My brother works at a large pension fund in Canada and his wife works at a REPE firm. 1 year for the mom, 6 months for the dad. You basically have 18 months that can be split up between mom and dad in any proportion. Both took the full time off with no work and no questions asked.
2 weeks is egregious.. what's wrong with people
Yeah, i had the State minimum, 2 weeks as the spouse. State updated the policy to be 3 weeks now. woo hoo
anyone taking more than 2 weeks of paternity is committing career suicide
relax buddy
Says a lot about the firm tbh…“great culture”
"Analyst 2"
since when are titles on here ever accurate
My company gives 3 days
Just enough to create a strong bond with your newborn!
