PTO in RE

What is your PTO in RE?

Example of my situation:

Position: Analyst Field: Development PTO: 10 days

If you have any other interesting set up, like unlimited non-paid time off, let us know. If there are any other interesting perks you have, that would be cool too.

Companies with grade school attendance policies like these make me cringe.

I'm at work when I want to be and take off when I want to take off. No one keeps track of it because they have better things to do and trust me as a professional not to abuse it.

100+. We are segmented. Investment/acquisitions teams are afforded more leeway.

An accountant doesn't network, read applicable literature, etc... once they leave the office. Investment guys work tirelessly to perfect their craft and make sure they're up to speed on the current state of markets. As such, if I'm in cabo for a a few days and don't take PTO it's prob cause i.) I will respond to emails/continue speaking with my peers and ii.) I've put in an an uncountable amount of hours of "extracurricular activities" so you're damn right I'm keeping those PTO hours for when i actually want to (can) disconnect).

Just the culture here... Maybe that ain't right but whatever.

Agree with this. Even though I'm at a large company with formal HR policies, no one actually gives a shit how much you take off as long as you deliver and get your work done. I have no idea how many "formal" days I have. I just email my boss when I have a trip coming up and let him know I'll be out of pocket. I've been at my current job for about 9 months and I think I've taken close to two weeks already. I will never again work for a company that actually tracks your time - did for my first job and that experience was a joke. Makes you feel like a child. Excuse me sir can I go on vacation please! Fuck that lol.
