European Bank RE Debt Modeling Test – Senior Analyst
Interviewing for a Senior Analyst / Associate role in the European Real Estate & Hospitality Finance team of a large international bank (think CACIB / Société Générale / Natixis). I’ve passed the initial rounds and the next step includes a modeling test.
My current background is in real estate private credit, mostly residential development/construction finance, so I’m comfortable with development models, LTC/LTV, drawdowns, interest capitalization, sensitivities, etc. I have less direct modeling exposure to stabilized CRE and hospitality.
The team covers multiple asset classes including living, hotels, office, logistics and retail, and does both underwriting and execution/syndication.
For anyone who has interviewed for similar European bank RE finance teams: what type of modeling test did you get? Was it primarily property-level cash flow + valuation + debt sizing/DSCR/LTV, or something more detailed around loan economics, syndication, construction financing or hotel operating models?
Any practice cases/resources would also be hugely appreciated. Happy to share what I learn afterwards.
