Final Round W/ Non-Team Members?
Currently interviewing with a small REPE firm. I’ve been through three rounds so far and have met with HR, senior member, and then all the people I’d be supporting. The members that I’d be supporting are all remote and we connected really well (spoke for a bit over an hour when scheduled for 30 mins). My next meeting is in person with the founder (doesn’t seem to have a huge role in my position or team/focused on other aspects of the firm). Is this a traditional super day? Do you think there would be multiple candidates? I definitely want this role and just debating how to best prepare.
Based on the most helpful WSO content, it seems like you're heading into a crucial stage of the interview process, but it might not be a traditional superday. Superdays, as discussed in various WSO threads, typically involve multiple back-to-back interviews with different members of the firm, often including higher-ups like Managing Directors or VPs. They can be quite intense, with several candidates being interviewed on the same day.
In your case, it sounds like you've already had several rounds of interviews and are now meeting with the founder. This could be a final round to assess your fit with the overall company culture and values, rather than a technical evaluation of your skills. It's hard to say if there would be multiple candidates, but it's always best to prepare as if you're up against strong competition.
To prepare, I'd suggest brushing up on your knowledge of the firm and its portfolio, as well as the broader real estate private equity market. Be ready to articulate why you're interested in this role and how your skills and experiences make you a strong fit. And of course, show enthusiasm and ask thoughtful questions. Good luck!

Yes this is normal - you're meeting the person that cuts your checks and decides your fate. He's the king of the castle doesn't matter if your dept. It's the final step and usually a formality just don't be weird and you should be fine.
