GRE / GMAT for MRED programs

I saw that MIT's msred program requires a gre / gmat. I have been considering doing an MBA, but I kind of suck at standardized testing. Wondering what are scores that I could target that would get me into a top tier MRED program.

Based on the most helpful WSO content, here are some insights regarding GRE/GMAT scores for MRED programs:

  1. GRE Scores:

    • The top range of GRE scores is generally considered to be around 320-340. For competitive programs like MIT's MSRED, aiming for a score in the higher end of this range would be beneficial.
  2. GMAT Scores:

    • A solid GMAT score for top-tier programs typically falls in the range of 700-740. For highly competitive programs, a score closer to 740 would make you a more attractive candidate.
  3. General Advice:

    • If standardized testing is a challenge, consider focusing on other aspects of your application to strengthen your profile. This includes:
      • Professional Experience: Highlight relevant work experience in real estate or related fields.
      • Networking: Engage with alumni and professionals in the industry to gain insights and recommendations.
      • Extracurriculars: Showcase involvement in activities that demonstrate leadership and commitment to the field.
  4. Alternative Pathways:

    • If you are considering an MBA but are concerned about standardized tests, remember that some MBA programs may offer waivers or alternative assessments based on professional experience and other criteria.
