Hi GoldStar, any of these topics helpful:
I hope those threads give you a bit more insight.
They just purchased the Shops of Buckhead Atlanta. Seem to be doing interesting stuff. Many associate them with Ponce City Market here in Atlanta. As a result, many assume they are a development shop, which is not really the case. If you are in conversation with them, it would be a great place to work. I’ve seen a good number of job postings over there recently.
I know a number of folks that work there. Feel free to PM me.
Interview process is a couple of rounds and an (extraordinarily easy) excel test. They are exceedingly smart and driven people, but it is very much known as a sweatshop. There are more ex-Jamestown people who have started their own firms or went off elsewhere than I can count, which is both a huge compliment to the company for what you learn there but also incredibly indicative of the burnout culture after they run people into the ground.
In short, great firm to work at for a couple years - just know what you're getting into.
Was going to write this, but CRE said it better. Smart, creative, and well capitalized, but they run hard and the departures of Jim Irwin, Katharine Kelley, the Newport folks, and many others is telling. Great place to start, learn, put on the resume, and then gtfo.
WallStreetOasis.com It's doing that thing where I can't get SBs to stay again. I give one to the Count here, only for it to not fully show up, and then upon refresh, disappear.
Thanks for the response. Do you know the normal hours per week analysts put in? Also I see that they hire analysts at the undergrad and masters level, do you know if they are seen/treated differently?
CRE - Can I PM you regarding some questions surrounding this?
