Job applications get rejected..why
I graduated last year, 2018 with a finance degree. I started working at a bank as a loan closer. This is not something I want and I'm looking to change my career. I am interested in become a commercial analyst or commercial underwriter. So, I applied multiple entry-level analyst job,but all my applications get rejected. I wonder why? The positions I applied are all entry level positions with no experience needed. And compare to the fresh graduate, I have a year working experience in banking. I am sure my experience and background are match the job's requirements. I just don't understand, that i didn't even get a interview opportunity? I am sure my resume is fine. I even went back to college and asked the career counselor to read my resume. I am wondering if this have something to do with the fact that I am currently employed. Is that why the hr don't consider me for those positions? What should I do?
I think you need to focus on networking. Imagine that there are thousands of applications (which are equal to or better than your app) - chances are your resumes got lost in the pack. Do some networking to gain more attention. Good product could not be sold without good sales man. Good luck!
On an unrelated note, I swiped right on a Tinder chick who didn't swipe right on me. WTF?
I just don't understand, that i didn't even get a shot to bang? I am sure my profile pic is fine. I even went back to the office bathroom to re-take my mirror selfie and asked my buddy at work if it looked ok. I am wondering if this has something to do with the fact that I am currently in a relationship. Is that why the chicks don't consider me for dates? What should I do?
How in the world could we tell you why without understanding the positions you applied for, what your resume looks like, how you come off in person, etc.?
It has nothing to do with you being currently employed though. That's a positive, if anything.
Just keep going, you may have to apply for 25-50 positions to get a hit. Enlarge your search area and be willing to move.
In addition to any other advice you get in this thread you just need to keep applying, even if its to the same company. Its a numbers game. If you applied to 50 positions with no interview you should start worrying but if its 20 you just need to keep applying.
