Job Offer Advice

So I have 2 job offers and both have pros and cons. To give quick background, I graduated from a non target state school in the southeast with a finance degree. Currently work for one of the largest third party hotel operators. I have an opportunity to join their Acquisitions team as an analyst. I was formerly in business development doing the underwriting, so this would be slightly different but still getting a lot of deal exposure minus the underwriting. It comes with possibly a 20% pay increase. In addition, the office is only a 10 minute commute.

My second offer is with a top tier brokerage (think CBRE, JLL, HWE) to join their Hotel IS team as an analyst in a tier 2 city (Atlanta, Houston, Dallas). The commute however is a good 45 minutes from me without traffic so I imagine some days I’ll be sitting in traffic for 1.5 hours+. I have my real estate license and brokerage is something I’ve had my eye on for a while. I don’t know what comp will be yet for either company, but assuming salary is similar, I know I could make more with brokerage based on commissions and YE bonus.

I guess my question for the board is, for you current/former analysts, what was hours and work/life balance like for you? Brokerage is something I want to get into (I eventually want to be a producer), but I don’t want to miss seeing my wife and kids during the week from getting home late. Much appreciated for any advice!
