LA REPE and Development Firms
Looking to move to LA in the spring/summer next year and would like to join a top REPE firm in LA or top operator/developer in LA. Who are the best players in LA and who's doing the most interesting deals? What is expected comp for a 3rd year acquisitions associate or junior VP role at a top REPE firm and operator/developer in LA?
Onni has been on a tear hiring, same with Kilroy and CIM.
Tides Equities or Flow
top firms only ladies and gentlemen, please do not name any non-top firms
Ares, CIM, Fortress, Oaktree, Cerberus, PCCP, CBRE GI are the big guys off the top of my head. I think Blackstone had an office in LA but unsure if its still here.
BX operates a small office in SM but to my understanding, they like to have people work a turn - 2 years I’ve heard - in the NY office before moving them out west. But could be different for more experienced hires.
Any thoughts on Artemis in LA?
bad rep culturally
Looks like they had pretty significant turnover at the junior level in the LA office - do you have any anecdotes or additional color? Is it bad culturally due to being a sweatshop or bad personalities?
Every single PE firm that's been named in this thread has a bad rep culturally haha
Angelo Gordon
Northwood Investors
Parkview Financial not PE but debt lender for lots of ground up construction.
JPM has an LA office
