Moving from GP to LP
Looking for tips on moving from the GP to LP side.
I will have control over about $500M in LP capital that I will need to put to work near term. I’m a newbie to the LP side; but have many contacts on the GP side.
For those on the LP side, or those who have made the jump from GP to LP, what are some tips for making the move? How can I quickly scale? What should I look out for? Which conferences/networking groups should I attend/be involved with.
All advice appreciated!
Hi Associate 2 in RE - Res, yes, I'm a bot, but I'm also good looking. Hopefully, these threads help you:

You're welcome.
A little confused by your question. You stared working for a $500M fund, or you came into $500M that you are managing?
PM me
So someone just handed you 500MM of Capital to go play with? I’m confused..are you asking about starting a fund or moving to LP side to work?
The move should be very easy for you coming from the GP side. ILPA is the primary LP organization.
PM Me if you are looking for more GPs
Don’t mean to hijack your thread but my little brother is in a similar spot, moving from a private credit shop to an LP / FoF role. Any advice I can pass along to him?
