Moving into hotel development from hotel branding / PR

Some context: been working at a top (ie. top 3) luxury hotel branding & PR firm for a minute. Did an IB internship at a BB in college in a non real estate coverage group, turned it down to do this out of interest. Top target / top stats. I'm looking to move into the development/investing space. My current gameplan is B School (shooting for HWS, have strong confidence in an M7 in general) and pivoting. Any thoughts on feasibility / difficulties on this route?

Moving into the development/investing space sounds like an exciting next step! Pursuing B School, especially aiming for HWS or an M7, is a solid game plan. As for difficulties, it might be helpful to network with professionals already in the field and gain relevant experience to enhance your chances.

By the way, consider crafting a new hire press release when you transition. It could be a fantastic way to showcase your accomplishments and make a splash in your new role.

I agree with ya.

Pursuing a business school education, particularly aiming for top-tier institutions like HWS or the M7 (an unofficial group of top-ranked business schools), can be a solid game plan to help you achieve your goals. Business schools often provide valuable networking opportunities and access to resources that can enhance your chances of success in the industry.
