Moving Markets

A little background, I grew up in San Diego and moved to Texas to attend a very non-target school. After graduating with a pretty useless finance degree I moved to a large city in Texas where I worked as an analyst for a year then transitioned into an office tenant rep broker.

I was lucky enough to close a few big deal to pay off my draw and put some money in the bank. I really enjoy most aspects of being a broker but often times I feel bored. I also can't imagine living in this city for the rest of my life. I am wanting to move back to San Diego before I get so entrenched in this market/job/life moving is no longer an option.

I am wondering if any of you have decided to move markets based purely on personal reasons knowing you would leave a job you enjoy with better than average pay for your age. Did you ever regret giving up your previous job/income for more enjoyment outside of the workplace? I also want to use the move as a reason to try working on the development side which basically means starting over at the bottom. I feel like my bank account is telling me this is a stupid idea but I cant stop thinking about moving back. For those of you who know San Diego are their any shops you would recommend I look in to?

Do it. If you already know that's where you want to be, you already have one foot out of the door.

I've lived in 4 states in 4 years. You adapt.
