MSRE or school of hard knocks

I want to start by saying that I feel very fortunate to be in the position I am in and I don't want to come off as entitled. Since graduating college, I have been working for a small multifamily property management and acquisition firm in Chicago. My goal is to move into development and eventually have my own firm. While my current experience is decent, I don't feel it's enough to fully prepare me for the kinds of projects I aspire to work on. I've been considering a Master of Science in Real Estate Development (MSRED) and have already been admitted to one program starting this fall. I have the option to defer it to January 2025 or Fall 2025 to apply to more prestigious programs. My family is in the child care business, running 11 sites, with two new development projects starting in the next six months. My parents have offered me the chance to stay in Chicago and learn by working on these projects, as well as to find a piece of land to run my own fourplex development. This would give me hands-on experience in "special use" development and a small project to manage on my own. Even though this isn't large-scale development, it's a valuable opportunity to learn and gain practical experience. My dilemma is whether to stay home and take up my parents' offer, pursue the MSRED and then work for a large development firm before eventually returning to the family business, or gain experience from the family projects and my own development first, and then pursue the MSRED in a few years.

Edit: I would like to add that I have been invited for a final round interview for a capital markets analyst position at a well-known Chicago brokerage. So if I get this job how would I fit it into my plan.
