MSRE/MSRED diminishing returns?

I've always planned to get an MSRE/MSRED, but now i'm 32 and making ~200kish in total comp working in PE already. I'm just not sure it's what sort of additional value i'm adding other then checking the box. Is MSRE/MSRED worth it if I'm already at this comp level IYO? Would it really just be a 75k-100k networking opportunity?

Are you trying to make a move or major shift soon? Unless you really need to learn the content of a MSRE/MSRED at this point (like if you wanted to shift to development and wanted to take development coursework or something like that), I'm not sure you are the target audience. Most MSRE/D programs seem to start as if you are not very far into a real estate career, have little/no real estate prior coursework, and are generally trying to get a "move up" job.

If you want a grad degree to check the box and be able to move up, then probably better to go MBA route. Do you need one? Depends where you are trying to work.... some places it will be almost a needed item to get into, but many won't care given your years of exp., and track record. If doing just for "networking opportunities"... I'd probably pass.
