Multifamily Sector Specialist

Curious how this group views the various multifamily specialists like Greystar, Carmel, Waterton, FPA, Waterton, Berkshire, Bell, GID, etc? Greystar aside, they all seem kind of the same. Are any of them performance or cultural messes?  Lifestyle seems pretty good working at a place like that too, but guessing comp is a little below market.

Based on the most helpful WSO content, Greystar stands out as a multifamily specialist with a significant global reach, a strong property management platform, and a growing investment arm. However, opinions on its management quality are mixed, with some noting a decline in quality due to scaling challenges, while others highlight its success in development, acquisitions, and international expansion.

As for the other firms like Carmel, Waterton, FPA, Berkshire, Bell, and GID, there isn't specific commentary in the knowledge base provided about their performance or culture. However, lifestyle at such firms is often considered favorable, with steady operating cash flows and less intense environments compared to other real estate sectors. Compensation at these firms might be slightly below market, especially when compared to top-tier REPE firms like Blackstone or Starwood, but they still offer solid career opportunities in the multifamily space.
