NAIOP Certificate in Commercial Real Estate Development? Best way to fill finance knowledge gap?

I am an architect looking to make a lateral move over to the development side.

I have read on the forums that my biggest hurdle will likely be a lack of finance education. I have read through most of Geltner's "Commercial Real Estate Analysis and Investments" and have been able to create my own proformas from scratch in excel so I feel like I have a basic understanding of how things work. But...that doesn't really show up on a resume. So, to demonstrate interest etc. I am looking at different real estate finance courses/certificates.

Has anyone had any experience with the NAIOP development certificate? Compared to ULI Real Estate 101, Kahr Excel for RE Analysis, BIWS, the NAIOP Cert. appears to have the most course content (64hrs). Only a portion of which is focused on RE finance. I recognize quantity rarely equates to quality which is why I am checking in with the forum to get some perspective on the certificate.

Specifically I'm interested to hear if anyone has any thoughts on the two finance components of the certificate that are available as electives. Do these appear to be comprehensive in the scope of the content covered?

1) Basic real estate finance: https://learn.naiop.org/products/basic-real-estate-finance-course

2) Advanced Real Estate Finance: https://learn.naiop.org/products/advanced-real-estate-finance-course

Am I better off just taking a finance focused RE modeling course such as REFM or BIWS?

Any suggestions on other ways I can approach this knowledge gap due to lack of development experience?

Thank you
