Can't speak to comp but know the upper guys have been there a while so once you hit VP it must be fairly juicy for guys to stay as long as they have. Very active shop that trades in and out of deals every 3-5 years so you will get great experience. Have a bunch of CalPERs money they use for value-add but also buy some core with it.

I know the culture there is fairly cut throat. PUR is a George Marcus entity so they very much buy into the M&M dog eat dog motto. You will be expected to produce at a consistent pace, regardless of how difficult the buying environment is or be shown the door. My advice would be great shop to use a spring board to other groups but probably tough place to stay a while unless you like playing British bulldog over deals.

I'm not sure I agree with your assessment re: production at a consistent pace or be shown the door. I would not describe the culture as cut-throat, but rather grinding. You will grind...hard. Comp isn't great at jr levels, but senior levels comp is excellent. The company (as with all M&M companies) really rewards loyalty, hence the strong comp at senior levels. Very professional and smart group - you'll learn a lot and come out a better professional. I will only caveat this post by saying my experience is only with the west coast (east coast could be totally different).
