Peak Rock Capital in Austin

Anyone have any intel on the real estate team? There's been some threads on the corporate team but nothing on the real estate team. According to the recruiter, they've been making real estate investments out of their corporate private equity funds but are in the process of raising their first dedicated real estate vehicle. Any help would be appreciated.

Very sharp, complex work. They like to get their hands dirty on hairy deals. Will underwrite aggressively based on perceived value-add but still negotiate for every dollar. Seems like a tough “what you have to believe” but I hear they’ve done well and they’ve raised successively larger funds to prove it.

Nasty culture, worse hours. Decent amount of turnover. Comp is good, not amazing, but enough to live well in Austin

Have worked with the team a decent amount as a broker. Will look at any and everything small to mid sized, any asset class, any geography. Likes investments with a special situations type angle. Personally don't have any insight into culture, but to the previous poster's comment on nasty culture and turnover, the real estate team is on their 4th associate in about 2 years. Make of that what you will...
