Raising Capital
Current state of capital markets set aside, how does one go about starting their own shop?
Currently first year analyst at a REPE shop and the typical deals I work on are in the $30-50m range. I am still new to this world but am curious how its even possible for new players to enter the field. Established players almost always have the advantage in the bidding process from what I've seen. So if one was looking to enter, perhaps as a syndicator, how would one go about raising the required equity? And assuming you can raise the equity, how do you go about convincing the seller that you can execute, without dangerously overpaying?
