Recession-proof Jobs

My recent networking efforts and the Fed have given me an idea that we are nearing the end of the cycle, and am curious to hear your thoughts as to which jobs will shine in the next few years.

I am an up and coming UG graduate and am trying to envision the most relevant job to set me up for sustained learning opportunities in the event of a market slowdown. I am thinking more management-oriented roles than transactional.

Any thoughts?

Ok, let's me get this straight. No one knows if it's end of the cycle or not. Just get the job you're most excited about at a company with human decency if you're worried.

Look around the firm, see out of 10 people you talk to, how many of them have been there 10+ years. This is rare but happens at some buy side shops. That's a good sign if you want something "recession proof". People pointed this out already, but aim for large money managers, as opposed to developers/brokers.

If you're a high performer, you will get moved around to cover different things when the market turns. Don't try to control the things that are out of your control. Good luck out there.
