Securitized RE Analyst Comp
Does anyone know the comp for analysts working with securitized RE debt (CMBS, CLOs, RMBS) at Megafunds? (Starwood, BX, PGIM, Brookfield, Apollo, KKR) Not sure how it compares to traditional REPE analysts or balance sheet origination analysts. Such an interesting niche, not much comp data out there
Really interesting space. Do you have full time experience in it?
Hopefully someday, just an incoming Summer Analyst on one of these teams rn
I’d imagine 1st yr base pay is comparable to BBs ($100-110k) with bonus range between 30-50%. Also have to consider the fact that securitization/conduit activity is very slow at the moment with hopes it’ll pick up closer to Q4.
Pay aside, you’ll learn a ton working at any of those shops and be able to pivot to different areas of RE later on.
What other areas could you pivot to? This isn't really RE anymore but more capital markets
Bankers will securitize anything nowadays
Slowdown referring to cmbs/clo mkt but yes, if it cash flows, into a pool it goes
Can I pm you? In a similar spot/experience
Bump
I have some comp ranges from friends and interviews at trimont/lnr/keybanc cap markets. All servicing though and not originations. Analysts can make 75-100 and aso likely start 120 range. Bonus from 10%-100%. Bet those bonus are about to be skewed higher with the workload in the coming quarters
Several wrong answers here. OP asked about the pay at MFs for securitized RE. Plain answer is you should expect pay to be in-line with other credit teams (DL, Structured credit, private credit) anywhere from Principal/VP/Senior Associate (dependent what the MFR uses for VP-level banking title equivalent) and down.
