Should I Update My LinkedIn to Reflect My Previous Employer's Acquisition (Acquirer is Large CRE Company)

Context: My first job out of college was at a company that was acquired by a very large well-known CRE company. It's now a subsidiary of the parent company but it still uses its branding rather than the parent company's branding. The parent company has significantly better name recognition than the subsidiary in commercial real estate. I'm also not there anymore - I left about 3-4 years ago.

Question: Would you change the original company to the parent company on your LinkedIn work experience and write in the description "Originally X Company; Acquired by Y Company"? The only reason why I'm hesitant is that the previous company still uses their name/branding - but not sure if that matters. The name recognition of the parent company looks much better since the subsidiary is not well-known outside of its respective niche whereas the parent company is one of the most well-known names in CRE

If I was actively job hunting and the firm I currently work at doesn't have any name recognition, maybe. Just to add it "because"...no. My general advise is that you should focus on your skills and experience so that the name of the company you worked at five years ago is irrelevant.
