Spring11 (NKF)
Any info on Spring11? I have an interview with them coming up and would like some more info on the firm and experience I would gain there. From what I was told it is a small firm with a startup feel and from the job posting it seems like pretty good experience for someone coming out of college. Thanks

I interviewed with them a couple years back. I went through three rounds of interviews and they tried to get me to come in and do a fourth. I promptly declined. As of late there have either been lots of layoffs or lots of people jumping ship (search Spring11 on Linkedin and you'll find this to be true). In addition, they are a third party underwriter (sort of like Situs) which is never an ideal role unless you're desperate. All in all, I'm glad I turned them down. Go with a bigger name (NKF itself or another large lender).
Great info, thanks a lot. What kind of questions did they ask, if you recall? I'll definitely look into the people on LinkedIn. I have a few positions I'm interviewing for but yeah 3 months out of graduation now so getting desperate lol.
lol yeah totally understand if you're desperate for a role. I believe they asked me questions about my prior experience (which obviously wouldn't apply to a new grad such as yourself). also asked me what I knew about the company and their clients. make sure you fully understand that they are a third party company. check their website for the full range of services they offer. a couple things I'm just remembering -
1) I applied for one of their roles through linkedin and somewhere around the second interview I realized they switched the role I was being considered for. never bothered to formally tell me I was being considered for a totally different role until l I asked.
2) one of the founders of the company came into interview me (which was pretty cool), but he asked me a question that rubbed me the wrong way - 'what's the reason you didn't get a 4.0 in college?' mind you, I was a full two years out of undergrad at this point. maybe it's my fault for still having the GPA on my resume, but either way, it rubbed me the wrong way
It will give you a taste of what it is like to be a contractor. You will get treated in the worst way possible. We use a lot (100+) underwriters from situs and other firms, we don’t even let them park in our garage, they had to park off-site and walk 10 mins to get to the office building
Bruh what lmao. That's terrible. Why are they treated so poorly? I actually have an interview for a job poster on the Situs website too but it's for Citi Community Capital so I don't know if that's the different than actual Situs?

I know someone who works there. They get to work with some pretty big banks so you might be able so make some good connections. He said its sort of an IB/Fratboy culture, work insane hours and party.
Does it seem like he's getting pretty good experience? I have a feeling you're referencing the NYC office though which I am not interviewing for.
