Massively well respected. Man has a whole business school named after him at ASU which has produced some big names in RE and WallStreet.

i know more about this company that i'm allowed to divulge publicly...they pay well...great for a lawyer/banker with 4-5 years of experience...and have a variety of business lines. Their tenant occupancy rate is among the highest in the industry...they take a lower tolerance for risk so have been mostly unaffected by covid...they have cash to deploy and have been looking for bargains to purchase.
Do they pay great for the junior level as well?
Not much to say, well known, well respected. A REIT so probably not much a chance of getting a big payday too young. Asset type (STNL) a bit boring but boring is good during COVID.

Had a recruiter reach out for a self-storage REIT opportunity ran by two former W. P. Carey folks, called Merit Hill.
Anyone have any thoughts on self-storage REITs and/or Merit Hill?

I am familiar with Merit Hill. Their Principal, Liz Raun Schlesinger is one of the most well respected in the industry, and you will get an absolute ton of deal flow if you go there. They are one of the more favored buyers in the space so people are constantly sending them deals. No idea about comp.

Solid pay, great team (at least on the asset mgmt side), great hours, investments team is in the rebuilding phase. As some people stated above, relatively boring place to be given the nature of their investment thesis but good place to start if no other options on the table or ultimately build a career.
