I considered a similar move and spoke to a few acquisition guys as well as some reputable headhunters. The general consensus was that if you are with an active buyer, typical hours would definitely be in the 60+ hour range on a normal week. One went as far to say that I should be expecting 70 to be the norm. Based on my conversations, it sounded like 80+ would not be extraordinary if you were on a live deal.
what was the salary range?
It's 100% firm dependent and will depend on your experience so this could be a huge range. Also, because real estate titles are so fluid, this can be tough to pinpoint as a analyst/senior analyst at one firm may be the equivalent of an associate at another. When I was searching I had about 3 year experience as an investment sales analyst with a dominant team in my region working on a difficult product type and I was told that I should be looking at a base at or above $100. Bonuses can easily range from 20% - 75%.
Firm and week dependent. Some firms have heavy deal flow but lots of analysts, so you work 40-55 hours per week. Some firms run tight ships and not many analysts, so you work 60 plus. If there is a live deal or bid / committee coming up, 6 days per week wouldn’t be crazy. With that said, you could be working that 6th day because you decided not to work until 10 PM each night the prior week.
