Which recruiters to work with?
Anyone know the best recruiting firms to work with for jobs at larger/MF REPE groups? Some in mind are TPG, Oaktree, Ares, Tishman, Related.

Career Resources
you should search this, been posts where lists have been generated. Real Estate Alert also publishes a list of all recruiting firms with RE focus/practice areas, should be findable via google.
My "short" list:
Ferguson Partners (the undisputed leader in real estate headhunting)
Korn Ferry
Spencer Stuart
Crown Advisors
Keller Augusta
Shine Associates
Hiedrick & Struggles
Odgers Berndtson
Rhodes Associates
Russel Reynolds
Terra Search
Keep in mind that the legit firms work on retainer for the hiring firms, so don't expect a lot of attention from them until they are seeking to add you to a candidate list. If you email them your resume, you may get an intake type call/interview, some are more open/helpful in this regard than others. Also, they tend to work for jobs needing 5+ and really 10+ years of experience. The more junior roles get posted to LinkedIn/Indeed, etc. if even the search is being run by an outside firm (so not much advantage there).
Good luck!
Literally none of these names run junior-level searches at large / MF REPE groups.... not helpful.
CPI runs searches for KKR, Cerberus, others. Probably has the most high-profile clients in the peer group you're thinking of.
SG Partners is great as well - they do Fortress and TPG (I think)
Bellcast has a couple; Bain, Baupost; some solid MM names as well.
Carter Pierce does Ares.
Tishman & Related I feel like would run their own recruiting. They're also nothing like the names above.
Not sure on Oaktree
Any idea how to register with CPI? Don't see any resume drop on their website.
Thanks! Good note on Tishman/Related. I got pretty far in the process with Tishman for a role a couple years back, I do remember it all being internal, think I applied thru LinkedIn.
Before all you "juniors" decide this post is not helpful, you may want to try and google for that Real Estate Alert list of HH firms........ I'll throw a hint, the big one was published in May of 2019 (or close to that), they did an update about a month ago, stuck into the weekly edition (the one from May of 2019 was a special supplement).
You're not the only one who reads real estate alert bro. That list just isn't relevant for anyone looking to get into MF REPE. Operators / developers generally work with completely different recruiters than allocators / PE funds. They generally draw from a different talent pool as well, and have more hiring needs (hence appearing on lists). For anyone looking to get into a MF REPE fund, every name on your list is a complete waste of time because they simply do not work with MF REPE funds.
Anyone except Bachrach Group.
Anyone except Michael Page
Second this. Ridiculous trying to deal with those folks.
I interviewed with KKR through Henkel Search Partners. I know they've worked with TPG in the past.
KKR 100% with CPI right now, they're currently running a search for an associate. HSP's only real estate client right now is KSL.
Why would big firms like KKR/TPG/Fortress use third party recruiting firms? Aren’t these firms big enough where they have their own internal talent acquisition groups?
Always thought the smaller firms utilize recruiting agency because they don’t have people to spend time doing it.
Agreed. Curious about this too.
