(HELP!) CV for asset management summer analyst

Hi everyone,

My background: - From HK, just finished my bachelor degree at a top Chinese Uni, and will pursue a master degree in another Chinese Uni, finance program - Several prior experiences in boutique banks and Chinese IB - Main experience focused on marketing / pitchbooks, while with limited experience in live deals

Current situation: - Preparing for the recruiting season, pursuing a career in Asset Management (preferably a summer position at firms like Fidelity, Blkrk in Hong Kong). I know that my prior experiences are mostly IB-related, so it'd be hard to break into AM, but I just wanna try. It will be greatly appreciated if you could provide advice from this perspective.

It'd be great if any of you can destroy my CV and tell me anything about how I can improve. Much appreciated.

Thanks a lot!!!!

Your resume is excellent over all and probably stronger than the interns at the Beijing PE firm I'm interning at (all are from Qinghua, I assume you either studied there or Beida). No idea how competitive Chinese AM is compared to PE though. A few mistakes I picked up on:

I would change “international experiences” to singular, it sounds odd to a native speaker. “Designed the training modules and videos” should be “Designed training modules and videos” “promotes financial education and trainings for the general clients and investment professionals” should be “promotes financial education and training for general clients and investment professionals” “company analysis for an potential” should be “a potential” “bring the team to the final” should be “brought the team to the final”. Also, I wouldn’t bold “Early admission program” in the middle of a sentence, I know you’re probably very proud of it but it looks a bit tacky. Just my opinion though.

I also studied at Qinghua/Beida before switching to a UK uni (though I'm a dumbshit foreigner who didn't have to take the gaokao), so there's a 50/50 chance we were at the same school. Would you mind messaging me to talk about the Beijing banks you interned at for IB and M&A? I'm trying to jump ship to an IB SA position for next summer from PE, as the odds of getting a direct full-time offer for PE are zilch.
