IB Resume Review - Sophmore at semi-target

Hey all,

I'm a sophomore at a semi-target aiming for some BB sophomore programs (not a minority though, so this is a reach), as well as some boutique/MM banks. I'd appreciate any review and suggestions that you guys have to offer.

Thanks

Good resume.

  • What's up with the spacing of your headers (Work Experience, etc.)?
  • No need to put US Citizen, imo.
  • Change all tenses to past tense.

Good luck.

It looks good. No need to put that you're a US citizen; it looks kind of fishy when presented like that, IMO.

ManyHenny is right, the header spacing is a bit weird, but it looks solid otherwise.

Thanks guys. The header spacing was just something random I was doing to make it more readable and have clear section division. I'll change it back to normal though.

  1. Take out US Citizen
  2. Your Hedge Fund Internship and F100 Internship are absolutely the most important experiences you have. Expand on those and really explain how you explain critical questions: What were your goals and did you achieve them/ exceed them? Was there more responsibility taken on?
  3. Maybe take out the dollar amount of your merit scholarship, if it was a full scholarship, explain it that way.
  4. If you performed well on your SAT/ACT then mention it with your GPA.

Very good resume I think. A little more emphasis on your relevant work/internship experience and cut back on student experience, bc it's not nearly as relevant, how you excelled/performed well in those role, and maybe more positive action words and confidence in your results/achievements. Good luck!
