Last summer position before I throw in the towel

Using a throwaway account here since some people will know me. I really need to improve the response rate to my applications so any constructive critique is welcome.

This is the last job before I throw in the towel.

This job is for a boutique PE summer position.

Since they said they want someone who writes well, I'm trying to think how I can put in some of my publications. Also, it's 2 pages because I'm not sure what format would be the best to include my publications into my resume since the M&I format doesn't have it. I will limit the resume to 1 page when I know what the best way to write PUBLICATIONS for my resume is.

I know its over 2 pages. But I'm not sure how I can format my publications into my resume because this job emphasizes that they need a person who can write well.

I feel like you should fight for the 1 page resume if at all possible. One quick suggestion is to maybe stretch the horizontal border on both sides, it seems like you have more than enough breathing room. I think that alone would trim it down notably because you have a decent amount of only partially filled lines. I also assume you're not going to repeat the red highlighted information over and over? I would say put the certificates/workshops at the bottom, and keep the selected publications as its own header.

If you're still fighting for space, I might tweak with the spacing between paragraphs and just manually make the font used smaller.

I think your resume really does hit hard that you like to write/are good at writing, so you shouldn't worry about it all too much.

Twitter as a "technical skill"? Care to elaborate?

Last thing I'd say is that your last bullet point of "received commendation for work ethic ..." is kind of goofy and should be rewritten with a result-oriented point.

Thanks for the feedback LiquidMarket. My actual resume is 1 page. The red highlighted part is just to show what options I have for listing my publications.

Edit: I just thought I'd put in Twitter because one of my publications relates to it and someone suggested it. But since the job description mentions nothing related to Twitter. IMO, I'm not going to put Twitter in.

Too much in education. Bump out the publications there and agree with the above that your skills should not include Twitter. One page is typically preferred for resumes, so you may turn off some of those reading your resume.

The bigger problem with your resume is that your experience will not get a recruiter's attention. Half of your experience is volunteer work. So prepare for that.
