I was wondering if it is okay to write on my resume that I am a finance major, even though I am currently not in the business school. I am actually a pre-business student in my sophomore year, planning to transfer into the business school by junior year to pursue finance. Thanks.

I would not recommend it. Since it is August, I am assuming you have just entered into your sophomore year, which means you would not transfer for an entire year? You can certainly explain your desire to become a finance major, but definitely would not list it. Can you transfer earlier?
The earliest I personally can transfer is for my junior year, and yes I just entered my sophomore year. I am working on all my pre-business and minor requirements, which allows me to finish my finance requirements within two years for the business program at my school. The thing is, I don't know what I should list as my major on my resume because I am really set on pursuing only a finance major. I do have a decent gpa of 3.65 which makes me confident on transferring to follow through with my plans.
Would it still be misleading to list finance as my major, and if it is, what alternative can I list instead?

I would list it as Business or Pre-Business, but definitely add a relevant coursework section, if you have taken any. Make sure to explain your interest in finance throughout the resume.
