Please critique CV... Former Auditor looking to go into AM/banking

After completing my mandatory military service in my country. I am now looking to return to UK and start applying for jobs.

My main preference would be Research roles at asset management firms. But will also try to apply to banks where possible
(Interested areas: ECM/DCM, Corporate Banking)

I will also be seeking for opportunities in corporate finance, Transaction Services in Big 4 firms.
Also to Investment Advisory depts of Big 4 or consulting firms
(areas which provide asset allocation advice to Pension trustees)

First glance eyecatchers would be:

a) Can you list CFA in such a bold way under professional qualifications given you are only a candidate (have you registered for an upcoming exam? Ethics section!)

b) You say 'Discharged as Staff Sargeant' - I know literally nothing about the military but to me that sounds as though you got kicked out?

c) Write "Technical Skills" rather than Computer Skills

thanks for your comments Asatar, just a few additions which might clear things up:

  1. I have registered for Level 2 exam due to be taken in June 2013. do you think i should still remove it from professional qualifications since I am not a charterholder yet?

  2. Given its mandatory military service, discharge is the term used for "given permission to leave the army" Can't really think of a substitute term to use :S

  3. will change to technical skills

Thank you for the input!

I listed CFA stuff under my education, after my college degrees, like this: CFA Institute - Level II Candidate (L1 passed June 2012)

Just a thought, not too bold but still gets a little attention I think.

A few suggestions: 1) Instead of putting down "discharge", just leave it out and put only your position in military. You can always explain during the interview. 2) Remove English in the "skill" part. I assume that you should be fluent given you've been working for 3 years in UK. 3) Remove anything about Microsoft Office.

Not sure if those rules apply to banking in UK though.
