Resume Help - Not a lot of opportunities

Hey everyone,
I'm actually really embarrass to post my resume out as its nothing like any of the resume that's posted on this forum with all the big banks, internship, etc. I've been literally actively seeking for internship every year but there's just not alot of opportunity. I definitely know there's something wrong with my resume and i need your help! I know if i don't take this step ill be stuck for a while. I really look forward to your feedback. I'm not looking for no IB job, cause i know it near impossible in my situation, i'm just looking for anything in the financial field and i tried to tweek as much as i can with my limited experience.

Thanks

Reach out to friends/family. Dig into your school's alumni network. You have a fantastic, solid resume; what will get you places is not necessarily who you know, but who knows you (and what they know of you). I can attest that I've seen non-targets beat target kids for internship positions because of their "fit" and someone they knew, even when the target kids had mind-blowing credentials.

If there's anything about your resume that could possibly make me wince, it's your "summary of qualifications" section. I've never seen something like that, and I'm not sure whether or not it's placed correctly; or, if it should be placed at all. Then again, your resume is pretty ideal. I can't find anything wrong with it. Just remember that you can make yourself stand out with your resume. Think of something you've done that you know no one else has.

Thank you for the positive feedback. I was expecting alot of criticism and people saying " just give up, you won't get it"or "not the right material" etc, judging from alot of alpha post i've seen on this forum. I'm from Canada, Toronto. Not sure is UofT a target school or not, but i notice most people graduating or graduated only very few made it to IB, analyst, private equity etc jobs. Thanks alot really appreciate your comment.

  • Expand your margins and work on your spacing. You have good experience, but everything looks really cluttered.
  • Align your heading in the center. It's really distracting where it is now.
  • Summary of Qualifications has me on the fence. Maybe try moving/adding that into Skills, Activities, Interests at the bottom of your resume.
  • There's a space underneath Work Experience, but there are no spaces anywhere else under your other main sections. Fix the spacing issues and once again, expand your margins.

After these changes, it should look pretty decent. Re-upload the updated version and let us know.
