so I'm currently interning at a mid sized HF, and what I primarily do is help the analysts with their research, write reports, do some excel grunt-work etc. etc.....but what I also do from time to time is use VBA to automate some of what the analysts do, and they really like that because it saves them a lot of time with repetitive shit (they don't really know how to program with VBA)....so my question is, should I put something along the lines of "Used VBA to automate repetitive processes, increase efficiency etc" ? what would be the best way to phrase something like this one's resume?

i wouldn't say automate repetitive processes, i'd probably go with something like "streamlined" or "optimized". Use something catchy that will pop.
Yes. I would definately place that on your resume. I would phrase it in a way that the reader knew you had actually done something beyond your menial tasks.
yes, definitely put it. maybe even try to estimate man-hours your macro saves the team every week. also make sure to include vba on skills and/or bring that up on interviews. many desks and some ibd groups (despite what people might say here) will really value this skill, even if its not strictly required.
just my 2 cents, but you should probably end (or begin) that bullet with either the purpose or result of your exercise...for instance...
"Upgraded the risk management architecture (or valuation platform for exotics or abcefgh) by automating xyz procedure"

Oh yea, thats huge. Don't know if you realize right now but this will come in handy and if you leave an interview and the other people don't know that you know VBA (or if you know any other programing as well) then your definitely selling yourself short. Don't know what side of the bank your trying to get into but I think its something worth noting especially if your trying to get into a more analytical role; creating the models, building optimization type spreadsheets, etc...
