B school alternatives?

I was talking to my roomate yesterday who just got into Hopkins's SAIS program for international studies. He claims that SAIS actually has comparable, if not better placement at ibanks than do many of the top 10 business schools. (He mentioned Wharton specifically) Given that the program is relatively heavy into econ, and has some quant work, but I find this hard to believe. Does anyone have any information to back this up or refute it?

Long story short is he is trying to dissuade me from going to b-school in favor of a program similar to his. What do you guys think?

I highly doubt Hopkins' SAIS program is better than Wharton's MBA program. In all honesty, I doubt many people have heard of the SAIS program. If it was a legit program, then people would most certainly know about it.

LOL! What a joke. Wharton? Common sense refutes that. I doubt that any school places as well as Wharton at the top Ibanks, let alone SAIS. Tell your friend that the pills he takes are not what he thinks they are.

SIAS is a great program for International Relations (IR) and inter-country trade. A lot people move into the State Department, etc. It's a wonderful program, just not for IB or Banking. It's like comparing apples to oranges. MBA usually have different set of career paths.

Though Geither did graduate from there and I believe Hank Paulson is teaching there as an adjunct. I personally think it would be very interesting experience, but I wouldn't say it "Better" than Wharton.

SIAS is very well known program internationally and I believe have a few currently and past foreign Prime Ministers and Prezs among there alumni.
