BA in Management to a financial analyst role
Hello everyone,
I will keep this short.
I am currently doing my first year at a semi target Russell Group university in London, majoring in Management. I would really like to branch out and secure a finance role in the future. My plan is to strategically pick finance related modules on top of my core modules.
I can pick 4 electives in my second year and 5 to 7 in my third.
Year two electives: Quantitative Analytics, Financial Market and Securities, Financial and Management Accounting, and Management Accounting for Decision Making or Microeconomics for managers.
Year three electives: Advanced Financial and Management Accounting, Corporate Financial Management, Macroeconomics Modelling and Policy, Corporate Law and Governance, and International Business.
I also plan on getting some certifications from either CFI or Wall street Oasis to strengthen my overall understanding. Potentially taking the CFA level 1 exam in the future.
I understand that having a non finance/accounting degree means this will be an uphill battle, is my plan viable?
Will applying for internships be harder with my current program/modules?
