lol, highly regarded nationally
Go with Binghamton, unless you're mormon or something
I find it funny that Mitt Romney went to Brigham Young. They are well regarded nationally, although that is subjective of course to how high you define highly.

Sounds like you want to be an accountant and not an I-Banker.
My present aspiration is the HBS 2+2 program. I am quite awhile away from applying but regardless of how that turns out I want to get an MBA/MS with a focus in Finance in graduate school. I've focused on accounting in undergrad as it has the ideal practicability/prestige/easiness ratio in that accounting isn't known for being easy but it isn't chemical engineering either - plenty of posts on these forums have indicated that the coveted 4.0 is more impressive then a 3.5 in chemical engineering so i've opted for Accounting.
I've gotten into better schools, these are just the only two that are economically possible for me.

Guys rich as hell dawg. No two ways about it. And mormons are just the nicest damn people youll ever meet. Prove me wrong.

Accounting is by no means a guaranteed 4.0. It is drier than Death Valley and tricky at times. I don't see how you expect to land in the HBS 2+2 program as a token accounting guy.
If you want IB, you should be going after that out of undergrad.
If you want accounting, BYU is clearly the better choice. And to be honest, it has more people in IB overall than Binghampton. The only thing Binghampton gives you is proximity to NYC, if that's where you are targeting.
You would have a better shot getting into IB out of UT-Austin though, which is also a great accounting school.
If I were you, I would go undergrad --> Big 4 --> TAS --> MM or boutique IB. You could throw the MBA in between TAS and IB, but it wouldn't be HBS 2+2.
Binghamton places very well with Big 4 for accounting majors.....other "higher ranked" service lines not as much, but audit/tax, if you have a decent GPA (3.5+) and are not socially awkward (take seriously) you should get an accounting job
I couldn't handle BYU, even though the campus is much nicer and reputation is stronger nationally. Binghampton is a good school for the area when it comes to accounting.
go to Bing. Easy placement in to the Big 4 if thats what you want.
If you want IBD, its tough but it can be done - I know a bunch of guys in Front office jobs on the street (BB and MM mostly).
plus they have way more fun than BYU...

GS S&T tries to take kids from Binghamton every year (active alumni network), but placement in IBD is dismal. Binghamton has alumni in a wide variety of places though, so networking can yield some good results. MBB placement is nonexistent.
Big Four placement is legendary - PwC FSR group takes several kids a year, leads to good exit opps in structured finance and hedge funds. Everyone with half a brain can get into a Big Four accounting role out of Bing.
BYU cannot compete with Bing for accounting placement. Binghamton SOM placed the most kids into NYC offices of E&Y and PwC out of any school in America last year. Not sure about KPMG, but it is also very active on campus. Deloitte is less active but also recruits.

Binghampton may place some into a stronger office (NYC), but has nowhere near the prestige or national clout that BYU does. It's not even debatable.

Personally know a few BYU guys that went to GS S&T/IB. Granted most of us are not mormon, but in my opinion a very underrated school for recruiting.
But aren't most of those guys in S&T or AM in the SLC office?
For what its worth, I knew an IBD kid in NYC. The only one in the SLC office was credit risk I believe, which is MO.
BYU gives you a way better shot at MBB/IB.
Agreed that BYU is underrated for recruiting. BYU will give you a much better shot at MBB, IB, S&T, and (I'd imagine) accounting.

I couldn't imagine a worse college experience than BYU. Signing a pledge that you won't drink or fuck? No thanks.
