Cambridge MFin is not that great and is nowhere close to top u.s. mfin programs in terms of selectivity. Even in the U.K. it is overshadowed by lbs mfin, lse mfin, and oxford mfe. I don't recommend it at all.

The MFin from Cambridge is a pre-professional degree, while the MIF from LBS is a professional degree. LSE does not have an MFin. They have an MSc in Finance, an MSc in Finance & Accounting, and an MSc in Finance and Private Equity. The one form Oxford is a much more quant-heavy degree. You are comparing apples to oranges. Just because these degrees share the word "finance" in common does not mean they are at all similar.

Yes, you're right. LSE is officially MSc in finance (5% acceptance rate; i got in there. did you?). I just used MFin as a shorthand.

Oxford MFE is more quant heavy, and their interview is tough. One reason i didn't apply there; I did not want a program that is too "quanty."

You're right that the programs are different, but i brought them up because cambridge mfin students are still competing with lbs, lse, and oxford finance people for jobs in London. And since the OP is concerned with career placement, i thought it was an apt comparison.

mbavsmfin... I would very much like to study abroad. I wouldn't mind studying at MIT, however. My stats are as follows: 710 GMAT (49Q 38V) BBA finance from Texas A&M University, minor in math (3.95-4.0 GPA-still pending) 2 years occupational day trader while still in school Chances of admission? THANKS guys!
