Chances in Wharton EMBA admittance

Hi WSO,

Trader at IB looking to enroll in Wharton EMBA. I’m looking for a gauge of my chances. Not looking on opinions on taking EMBA as I’m set on the value add it brings via expanding my learning, networking, brand building.

Experience:
- 12y working experience, 5 in HFs, 7 in one of the largest European banks, my current job
- Book / business runner the whole time. Trader Assoc to VP to D in 7 years
- Managed 1 Assoc over last 2 years
- Met budget of 10M to 40M every year ( large range as won’t disclose much )
- Top 15 percentile of performers trading floor wide. FWIW
- Likely able to get great LOR from regional Desk Head

Academics, stats:
- Target school (Duke/Cornell/UChicago) with 3.5, Math, CompSci double major
- Recent GRE 154V, 169Q, equivalent to 690 GMAT
- I took the GMAT but more than 5y ago. 690, 38V/47Q
- Represent bank as winner in conference paper
- 1 math publication with UWash Professor in World Scientific journal
- 2 trading publications in then Futures Magazines but more than 8 years old

What chances you give me for Wharton EMBA? The mainly blocking point for me is retaking GMAT to get like a 710, their median. It's going to be another 100h I may not want to put myself through. If I have a 50/50 chance, maybe I'll just apply.

Sincerely,
N

As mentioned earlier.

Going to dedicate weekends on filling gaps in my knowledge through electives

Access to Wharton alumni network. I want that group of contacts / friends I can ring up to get a quick latest of an industry trend

Have that brand as a signal during networking events.

I couldn't picture myself getting D when I started a decade back. But with the concept of leveling up, I have a sneaky suspicion the day will come when I decide to work towards C-suite. And when it comes, it's always helpful to pull that H/W/S MBA card
